Bombus humilis
Bombus humilis is a medium size bumblebee. Elongated head. Coloration is mainly orange.
Length of queens: 16-19 mm.
Length of males: 12-15 mm.

Females. In females of Bombus humulis, the malar space, clypeus and the area below the lateral ocelli present a small and uneven stippling. There is a little dots below middle ocellus. Frons is little sculpted. Labrus tubercles are flattened. Base of labral groove is widened. Lateral lamina with the blunt edge. Apical impressions are well defined and formed by a dense and thick dotted. Tibia of hind leg is convex and uncrosslinked. Short and isolated hairs on basitarsus of hind legs.
Genitalia with external projections of the container of sting and the inner projections are wide. The internal projections have an internal shoulder.
Males have long and wide mandibular beard. Antennae are long. Clypeus is more prominent than in the female.
Genitalia provided with hooked and divergent sagittae. Stipes are very concave. So the apex seems more developed and directed towards the inner zone.
Bombus humilis is a Palearctic species distributed throughout Europe.
It is in the northern half the Iberian peninsula, between 150-2000 m.
